Karel Bailey

She has a passion for working with youth. As a member of White Lake Golf Club, she has served as the Ladies Association chair for a number of years. There is hardly a day that goes by that you will not see her at the golf course or the range! As a Board member of the White Lake Junior Golf Foundation since 2024, she believes that she can provide a positive influence on our youth through the game of golf. Golf is not an easy game, but if we keep making it fun for the youth, they will slowly embrace the “game of a lifetime”.

Valerie Vihtelic
Trustee
Valerie Vihtelic’s golf career began at the age of 13 when her family moved to Whitehall, on the first hole of the White Lake Golf Club (WLGC). During high school, she decided to give golf a try, and by her senior year, she had become the Regional Champion and an All-State Golfer. She received a scholarship to play collegiate golf at Aquinas College while earning a dual major in business and accounting. She later went on to earn her Master’s in Business Administration at Grand Valley State University. Valerie returned to the White Lake area and currently works as an accountant. Golf has been such a large part of her life, that it’s no surprise she met her now husband, playing at WLGC. Valerie is deeply passionate about encouraging young women to get involved in the game of golf, which teaches patience, sportsmanship, and fosters connections that last a lifetime.
