White Lake Junior Golf Foundation
Our Mission
To engage White Lake area youth in the game of golf while developing integrity, self-confidence, sportsmanship, and a lifelong love of the game.
Our Goals
WLJGF started as an idea to promote the future of this great sport, our youth. With that in mind, we plan to conduct professionally run teaching clinics at White Lake Golf Club that focus on the fundamentals of the game while also teaching proper sportsmanship, etiquette, and course management. In order to provide the best support to our youth, we hope to provide golf equipment, improve the WLGC teaching facilities, and increase support for the local White Lake area High School teams.
About WLJGF
The White Lake Junior Golf Foundation (WLJGF) was formed in January, 2021 and was recently approved by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) public charity. The Foundation’s creation and growth is currently being guided by a small board of directors and will be looking for additional directors as it gains traction and funding.
The Mission of WLJGF is to engage the greater White Lake area youth in the game of golf, in a way that they learn the game’s mechanics, history, rules and values, and they become lifelong golf enthusiasts. We will connect with kids ages 6-18 years of age through the local school systems and aspire to develop integrity, self-confidence and sportsmanship through the game of golf. As golf enthusiasts ourselves, we hope that many will find the game to be a competitive, healthy and social activity that brings them friendships and joy.
As with all charitable organizations, one of our first priorities is to raise money to support our plans to communicate broadly with the White Lake community and conduct multiple youth clinics during the 2022 golf season. These early funds will be used to create a communication network including website and teaching materials as well as compensate White Lake Golf Club (WLGC) for the use of its facilities and teaching resources. Longer term the WLJGF plans to support the further development of the WLGC Evan McCombs Practice Facility as a resource to teach the game of golf and cultivate future WLGC Members.
